2000s-Today: FFA in the New Millennium

FFA Archives at IUPUI

FFA materials processed and on the shelf, ready for research!

The National FFA Archives were transfered to the Ruth Lilly Special Collections and Archives at IUPUI in stages from 1998 through 2000, and their archival care and processing was funded by a grant from the Indianapolis Foundation. These historic records were made available to the public for research in 2000. The records take up more than 145 square feet and are still growing.

The Archives also holds the records of the Indiana FFA.

The National FFA Convention is held for the first time in Indianapolis, Indiana; attendance was 54,489. It was held in Indianapolis until 2012, then moved to Louisville KY from 2013-2015, and has returned to Indianapolis from 2016-2024.

The requirement that women wear skirts during Official Dress uniform occasions was dropped in 2016, and this update was included in the 2017 Official Manual. Official Dress is now ungendered and both men and women can wear either skirts or pants as they wish. Language expressly stating members have the right to wear religious attire while in unifom is also added.
