The Barefoot Game was an annual fundraiser started by Coach Ron Hunter in collaboration with Samaritan's Feet back in 2008. The aim of the fundraiser is to donate shoes to children in countries that need them the most. Hunter used his platform by playing barefoot for the entirety of the two hour game and then traveled to the countries to personally deliver the shoes. The first Barefoot Game brought in over 110,000 pairs of shoes, way over the expected goal of 40,000. Coach Hunter has since moved on to coach at other universities but still continues the Barefoot Game tradition every year, and he hasn't lost a game since the beginning.
